Hire companies executives based in cities, along with over liturgy-cautious fly-in-fly-out mine safety staff living in cities tend to have no appreciation for the requirements of cross-country driving such as is done for Wallaby surveying. It is suggested that a Wallaroo survey using the electric tractor be preferred over the typically more efficient Wallaby survey at any site where demand is that a hire vehicle be used unless obstacles on site are all clearly visible and there is no long grass nor undergrowth that must be driven through. Warning: the safety inspectors may get upset about the batteries in the electric tractor. The electric tractor solution was invented to satisfy mine safety staff – as no one is within the tractor it is less dangerous than a quadbike or ATV.
