Monitoring and Telemetry

Groundwater Imaging offer monitoring and telemetry solutions, often augementing our other services to offer turn-key solutions for projects such as seepage quantification or managed aquifer recharge.

Groundwater Imaging can supply a large range of connectivity solutions on farms - we consult to either refer clients to specialists for particular solutions or come up with a full solution ourselves including sensor procurement, integration, installation, telemetry and dashboards (software). Where there is existing equipment, we consult to suggest pros and cons of technical decisions to segregate, replace, enhance, repair, duplicate or integrate with that equipment.

Groundwater Imaging staff are certified by Irrigation Australia as Certified Meter Installers – CMI; NSW Duly Qualified Persons – DQP and Certified Storage Meter Installers and Validators – CSV.

We typically source parts from TOIP and AquaCheck. Projects involving integration of our electrical resistivity tomography, metering and telemetry products facilitate both a temporal and spatial understanding of soil moisture movements.

Groundwater Imaging Pty Ltd offer a water storage meter installation service as well as stock of replacement parts at Dubbo NSW. Download our brochure for further information. Download Floodplain Harvesting Brochure

What about the federal On Farm Connectivity Program?

  • The OFCP is an Australian Government initiative providing a 50% rebate to suppliers of eligible products installed for farmers (first come, first served).
  • We obtained eligibility for the listed products.
  • The 18 Million dollar rebate program ROUND 2 started on the 8th November 2024 and was to finish on the 30th of April 2025 BUT funds were exhausted in less than a week and a $20million round was announced but not scheduled - this too is anticipated to get heavily subscribed such that funds will be exhausted in days and farmers are advised to consider paying full price for goods prior to the 3rd round (that does not explain if they are likely to get reimbursed or not).
  • Unlike for Round 1, farming entities receiving 3 year averaged revenue up to $4million are now permitted to apply.
  • Eligibility rules restrict to use by farmers only on projects with rebates from $1,000 to $30,000 (projects from $2,000 to $60,000) on a first come first served basis until 30th April 2025 or until funds run out – whichever is earliest. See the full list of rules here.
  • The program does not seem to exclude expenditure on NSW government non-urban metering and floodplain harvesting metering compliance devices.
