Occasionally government offer a 50% rebate on eligible products
Groundwater Imaging can supply a large range of connectivity solutions on farms. The Australian government has announced a program that may make this 50% cheaper:
What is the On Farm Connectivity Program?
The OFCP is an Australian Government initiative providing a 50% rebate to suppliers of eligible products installed for farmers.
We obtained eligibility for the listed products.
The 18 Million dollar rebate program ROUND 2 started on the 8th November 2024 and was to finish on the 30th of April 2025 BUT funds were exhausted in less than a week and the future of the program is now in suspense.
Unlike for Round 1, farming entities receiving 3 year averaged revenue up to $4million are now permitted to apply.
Eligibility rules restrict to use by farmers only on projects with rebates from $1,000 to $30,000 (projects from $2,000 to $60,000) on a first come first served basis until 30th April 2025 or until funds run out – whichever is earliest. See the full list of rules here.
The program does not seem to exclude expenditure on NSW government non-urban metering and floodplain harvesting metering compliance devices.
Examples of expenditure:
NSW FPH metering with added reservoir seepage and evaporation loss measurement.
A 50% rebate is available to April 2025 on a first come first served basis from the federal government for farmers getting on-farm-connectivity devices installed from approved suppliers. Groundwater Imaging P/L have obtained certification for installation of items listed here. The program has only $18 million allocated to the second round and is anticipated to sell out fast. Rebates start at $1,000 and reach $30,000 for projects from $2,000 to $60,000 or above.
