UBCO 2wd electric motorcycle
- Price: Price on application
Another option for traversing microrelief is an electric motorcycle as inline wheels do not tilt from side to side traversing rough microrelief. Conventional petrol motorcycles are poor as they lack the precise energy-efficient means of slowly negotiating very rough micro-relief. The UBCO motorcycle has 1KW motors in each hub, a low seat good for balance while wheels are crossing microrelief high points and 50V utility rather than performance battery options. Comprehensive racks facilitate fitting of a tow ball and electronics sufficient for Wallaroo towed TEM survey. The bike is unsuitable for Wallaby survey due to the 220kg weight of Wallaroo.
As of January 2025 we are experimenting with electric bikes but have not purchased a UBCO bike – it is just recommended.
