As per HERBi survey from a manned boat, HERBI may be towed by a sit-on kayak with outrigger and outboard motor. On one occasion 38 km of survey was conducted in one day, involving lifting all the equipment and kayak over regulators, by a single person, leapfrogging the ute using a bicycle to double back each time. The kayak is used in such situation where porting the boat would be both frequently required and ridiculously inappropriate.
