The Leica rotating laser is used to transfer elevations from benchmarks short distances to get elevations of gauge boards and level/depth sensors such as for FHP surveys.

It also measures from elevation of GNSS base stations to water level when completing HERBI reservoir surveys.

It is used with a staff and can be operated by one person. It is self levelling. Accuracy must be considered, especially if bench marks are distant.
